Sean Friend – Business Coach, educator and entrepreneur

A small town coach with a world wide perspective

Sean was raised in the small farming community of Vryheid in Northern KZN, went to boarding school at Michaelhouse, and then completed a B.Comm at the University of Natal (PMB) before backpacking around Europe and then working in London for five years.  In 1995 he returned to South Africa and has no intention of leaving!

A coach with the right experience

As well as other business ventures, Sean has owned Golden Peak Spur in Vryheid since 1995 and as a result has experienced firsthand the highs and lows, the excitement and heartache associated with entrepreneurship.

In 2010 the family moved from Vryheid to Newcastle and Sean went into property management, at Taxi City and then Newcastle Corner, both local shopping centres.

A family man and community member

Sean met his wife Paula in the United Kingdom and they were married in 1995.  They have two children.  Jordan, who has just completed his BSc in Environmental Geology and Natasha who is in Grade 11 at Curro St Dominics in Newcastle.  He is on the Board of the school, is a member of the Monte Stanco Moths and a member of the Majuba chapter of BNI. 

His passion is history, he is a Specialist History Guide who guide who takes overseas visitors around our sites and he does historical talks and lectures to the public.  He is a member of the Dundee Diehards, a dedicated group that ensures our South African history is brought alive through military displays and battle re-enactments.

Utilising various Action Coach techniques in sales, marketing, team building and systems, Sean has been improving his clients’ investment returns on a consistent basis.  He takes his role seriously, getting very involved with the strategies and solutions necessary for business to thrive.
